About Seven Sisters’ Woolen Crafts

To day, the Seven Sisters’ Woolen Crafts (P) Ltd.have the pride to be standing up on its own stand. There was no existence of such kind of neighboring house-wives’ self-help promoting company around us. Though, this company have nothing big background but, it has its own story.

When the husbands leave the apartments to attend their works, the children go to their school in the morning, the house wives on the apartment become to be alone because, most of them were uneducated to attend any office or to get any other source of income. The time never stops & it flows constantly which waits for none. The market price increases, the children grow up day by day but the income source of a single husband do not grow up in Nepal at the ratio of market price.

Looking over such condition, the seven members of such house wives got together one day & started to discuss to solve the recent house hold problem raised on. They have a common topics to discuss, how to utilize the spare time which they were spoiling & how to solve the house hold problems recently & in the coming days ? There were so many proposals like to start a child care center, to be a sales representative of any home production or to be a helper of other richer house wives around but on the conclusion Mrs. Jamuna Acharya who is the Chair Person of this company proposed to start the woolen knitting works & produce some unique items to sell on the market at reasonable price with small margin.

Every member of the informal company agreed to follow the idea of Mrs. Acharya & decided to start the work by the next day. Because, most of the members were have some knowledge of knitting Sweaters, Socks, Gloves, Mufflers, Cardigans, Bags, Hates & so on useful for the winter.By the next day, they purchased some different colored raw wool & designed first on a different pattern. Then, they started to knit them & produced some items very quickly. For the first time they have their own woolen products & the Christmas was on the door. They didn’t want to take the production on the market but decided to present to their close friends or abroad instead. So, they presented the first lot of production to the friends as Christmas Gifts.

In result, they gained inspiration on their effort as well as some money to supply the same items in different colors & size. When they got such kind of inspiration, they thought they have been rewarded for their effort & started to work with double effort ! Mr. Hari Acharya, the husband of Mrs. Jamuna Acharya who is a long experienced trekking agent in Nepal knew this, he also promised to help them from his side. Mr. Hari who is Adviser & Trade Promoter of Seven Sisters’ sent some items to his friends abroad, they also appreciated for those productions and demanded more items to put on the fair to promote the home products as a help ! And of, the Seven Sisters’ followed the idea of producing more items & supplied them to put on the fair. This idea worked a lot & gave best result to the Seven Sisters’ effort. In this way, the Seven Sisters are very much thankful to Mrs. Kari Bivona and Mr. David for their kind help ! At the same time, they advised to launch an web site with the catalogue of the home production of Seven Sisters which could be helpful to the customers of such productions to choose & order in different colors & sizes.Though, the Seven Sisters’ company always believes in team work, they have classified themselves as Chair Person, Vice CP, General Secretary, Treasurer, Members etc to complete the formalities to be registered on the Government. The main objective to establish this company :We have decided to put certain percentage of amount as provident fund to help.As all of the members in the company have good knowledge of being unemployed, unskilled & uneducated womens, its priority goes to remove all those titles mentioned above & let them join the company. “Wearer knows where the shoe pinches!” is an old proverb, no body knows the pain of poverty stricken family exactly.
